Tim Storrier was born on 13 February 1949, Sydney, Australia. His latest acclaim was winning the Archibald Prize in 2012 with a self portrait "The Histrionic Wayfarer (after Bosch).

Storrier was educated at the Sydney Church of England Grammar School and the National Art School, Sydney. He is the recipient of several awards including: the Sir John Sulman Prize in 1968 for Suzy 350 at age 19 (the youngest artist to win this prize) and again in 1984 for The Burn, a finalist in the 2011 Archibald Prize, the Wynne Prize 2012 for his painting "The Dalliance", the Archibald Prize in 2012 for theHistrionic Wayfarer (after Bosch)

In 1994, he was awarded an Order of Australia (AM) for services to art.

His work is included in the collections of the National Gallery of Australia, the Art Gallery of New South Wales, the Metropolitan Art museum in New York and all major Australian art museums. 

He now lives and works in Bathurst, New South Wales.
