ARTIST BIOGRAPHY

Adam Cullen (1965 - 2012) Sydney, Australia

Considered an “enfant terrible” in the Australian art world, Adam has become one of Australia’s significant artists. Well known for winning the Archibald Prize in 2000 with a portrait of actor David Wenham, his works are irreverent yet humourous, and at times quite confronting. He has exhibited broadly in individual and group exhibitions both in Australia and overseas. In 2002 he represented Australia at the 25th Biennale de São Paulo. He is widely respected and considered one of Australia’s most important contemporary artists.
